Bill Porter with his 10 Years of Service Award
WILLIAM “BILL” PORTER is with us since August of 1996.  It has been a pleasure to watch Bill grow professionally and push himself to learn all the latest technology.  Bill has been with us almost since the beginning, and it is a wonderful feeling for us to know that we have such a loyal and dedicated employee that we can always rely and depend on.  In addition to his many other automotive repair skills, he is our go to man for front ends and computerized alignment.  Bill was recently trained and certified by Southwestern BG for all of our maintenance equipment and products.  Bill currently holds 7 ASE Certifications.  He is scheduled for the last ASE test he needs to meet his goal of being an ASE Certified Master Technician.

MIKEL "MIKE" BUCKNER  joined us in January of 2006.  Not only is he an experienced technician and an outstanding diagnostician, he is an ASE Certified Master Technician with an additional L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Specialist) certification (he just recertified in December 2007).  Always continuing his education and certifications, this year he was trained and certified by Standard Motor Products in OBD II Mode 6 Diagnostics and Fuel Trim Diagnostics, as well as all of our maintenance equipment and products by Southwestern BG.  He came to us after managing a successful family owned automotive repair business.  His experience as a technician, service writer, and manager makes him ideal for a business such as ours.
Next time you see Mike, be sure to congratulate him on being named "2009 NAPA/ASE TECHNICIAN OF THE YEAR".  Way to go Mike!

MAURO ROSAS joined the Hickey family in October of 2006.  Mauro started out as a lube technician, but he eagerly moved up the Hickey ladder.  In addition to being a Maintenance Specialist, he is also our service call provider.  Mauro is who we dispatch for service calls, towing, fuel delivery, and lock out service.  You have never seen a bigger smile on a young man than the one Mauro wears when he gets in the tow truck.  We almost can’t pry him out of it. He has been trained and is certified proficient in the use of all our maintenance machines and products.   Mauro has been educated and certified by a Mitchell Automotive Professional in Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems, as well as being trained and tested for the RMA (Rubber Manufacturing Association) Play Your Part (Pressure, Alignment, Rotation, Tread) by Myer’s Tire Supply.  When he is not on the road, he can be found in the shop repairing vehicles and cleaning “his” tow truck.  In Mauro’s personal life, he is a volunteer fire fighter for the Nogales Suburban Fire District.  For his position as a volunteer fire fighter, he has been certified in CPR, Red Card, Recognizing and Identifying Hazardous Materials, Human Factors on the Fire Lane, Basic ICS System, Understanding Railroad Tank Cars, Basic Wildland, and Introduction to Wildand Fire Behavior.  During his many experiences as a fire fighter, he has done everything from using the “jaws of life”, to rescuing someone from a burning building.  Mauro’s commitment to life and his community makes him a perfect addition to the Hickey Automotive family.  His training in hazardous materials comes in very handy at our shop.  Everyone feels much safer with such an expert around.  We feel both lucky and proud to have such a brave, dedicated, young man.

  JARED "JJ"
SAM PIZZUTI (AKA Grandpa Sam or Sonny) has been our shuttle operator on and off for over 7 years.   He is here now to stay.  Sam is a retired big rig driver of almost 50 years who originally hails from New Jersey.  He fell in love with Arizona on his first trip here in 1953.  On that fateful trip,  he promised himself that he would retire here.  Sam enjoys meeting and chatting with our customers on his daily travels. His philosophy is that people should never retire completely, and says driving our shuttle keeps his days full of joy and excitement. Sam's newest project is playing "cash cab" during the shuttle rides.  He dug out some of his old jazz cassettes to play in the van, and if you can answer the questions he asks about the songs, he hands you Hickey Bucks on the spot.
