We are pleases to announce, that earlier this week, Phil Farenga (from AAA of Arizona) came to our facility to inspect us for being "GREEN" and we passed with flying colors!!!
AAA is in direct partnership with ADEQ and the Arizona Green Business Automotive Program. Phil said we should receive our AAA plaque shortly, but our certification from the State of Arizona could take up to 6 months to receive. We will have our "checklist of green accomplishments" available for your perusal by early next week.
Many of the things that were required, we had already been doing for years, but for the things we hadn't already been doing, it was a lengthy and costly process. We have been working on converting equipment and policies for almost 2 years. Just a few of the things we have done are: change out all of our lighting, set up recycling bins in the waiting room, office, and shop, replaced our parts cleaning machines to ones that no longer use chemicals, recycle and reuse our ink cartridges, placed drip trays under all of our chemical barrels, and have our fluids and filters picked up by service companies that recycle and properly handle them. We even got points for sending our technicians to school for hybrid vehicles.
The changes we have been making go from the waiting room, to the shop, and to our company vehicles. Even though we have been certified for what we have done so far, we will continue to explore more ways to be "green".
